Welcome, I have no idea what is going on either.

You have stumbled upon the blog of a post-graduate just trying to figure life out, one month at a time.

My name is Leila and I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life. Unlike (some) other people my age (24) I’ve decided to avoid the social pressure to choose a career, and just kinda do what feels right.

I am currently “Home for the Holidays” in Costa Rica for the first time since graduating from University. Does that mean Christmas, New Years, President’s Day, the March Equinox, Arbor Day?

Who knows.

All I know is that 2 months before graduating from the University of Vermont (United States -almost Canada-) I was applying to and interviewing for jobs, stressing about what my life would look like after my June 1st move out date. Then I realized waking up at 6:30 am to have enough time to get cute and commute to my entry-level position at a company I had no passion for, clock in my 40 hour work week, rinse, repeat until the age of 65, counting down the hours until I could sleep in maybe once a week if I’m lucky (I am told weekends become errand days) was way more terrifying than not knowing where I was going to live for the next few months.

So I hauled ass all summer as a waitress to save up enough money to travel around Europe for 2 months, making it back to sunny Costa Rica right as the formerly occupied (cheap) communist countries of Eastern-Europe froze over.

And now here I am, Home for the Holidays, writing a blog at the behest of my mother to “put that English degree to use”. Lets see if anyone reads this (probably extremely personal) narration of me figuring out what the fuck(?!?) I am supposed to do now.
